Settings that actually save your battery
Every game has a settings menu you probably skipped past. That's a mistake, because a few of those options make a real difference to how long your phone lasts and how hot it gets.
The biggest one is frame rate. Most games default to the highest your screen supports, and dropping from 120 to 60 fps often cuts drain noticeably while feeling almost identical in slower games. Save the high frame rate for racers where it counts.
Next is graphics quality and resolution scaling. On a small screen you genuinely won't miss much by going one notch down, and your phone will stay cooler over a long session. I test every game on both extremes and the difference in heat is often dramatic.
Finally, kill the background stuff. Push notifications, always-on effects, and constant network syncing all add up. A couple of minutes in the menu buys you a lot more play time.
